If you want a Chartered Accountancy Certification in India, you have to appear for the entry-level examination known as the Common Proficiency Test (CPT or CA-CPT). The exam is conducted by ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) following the Chartered Accounts Regulations 1988. Students willing to become a certified CA and start their career can appear for CPT exam twice a year. They are eligible to appear for the exam after they have completed their 12th standard exam. Important Dates For CPT Exam 2020

  • The ICAI CPT has been scheduled for the month of November 2020.

  • It is mandatory for everyone willing to appear for CPT 2020 to complete their higher secondary examination from a national or state-recognised school.
  • You have to register to Common Proficiency Course before 2nd October 2020. The validity of the CPT course registration is three years.

Syllabus Of CPT 2020

Students appearing for the exam have to answer around 200 questions. The objective-type questions are further divided into two sections. They are Accounting and Mercantile and Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. Few common topics on which these questions are generally based are General Economics, Fundamental of Accounting, Quantitative Aptitude and Mercantile Laws. The Exam Pattern

Not every student planning to appear for the CPT exam is aware of the fact that it is an offline exam based on pen and paper. The first thing every CA-CPT aspirant has to do is to collect and fill the application form correctly. It is available online in a PDF format. Print it on an A4 size sheet. Collect The Admit Card

The admit card for CA-CPT will also be available online and you can download it from the official website of ICAI. You just have to enter your login details and you can collect your CA CPT 2020 admit card. Candidates won’t receive a hard copy of the admit card but have to print the one available online. All the students must carry a printed copy of the admit card if they want admission to the examination hall.

How To Check Your Results?

You can check ICAI official website to know your qualifying status for Chartered Accountancy Common Proficiency Test online. Generally, the result is published in a PDF format and includes the name and roll number of qualified students. You can also see your individual subject marks.
